Luna X2iPod Xperts, XtremeMac have announced their new and improved Luna X2 iPod clock/radio to get you bopping out of bed.

More than an alarm clock, XtremeMac touts their X2 as a high-performance room audio system. And with an auxiliary line-in jack, two full-range speakers and a hi-dynamic power amplifier, this description might stick. With a functional remote control and its aesthetically pleasing looks, we look forward to hearing what the X2 sounds like.

The Luna X2 is available for pre-order from XtremeMac direct, for $119.95US.

G15One of the more exhaustive reviews  I have ever seen on the Logitech G15 2007 Gaming Keyboard has been reviewed at BenchmarkReviews.com.

I had been wanting to upgrade my current G-15 but this very well balanced review by Olin Coles makes me want to wait for the next version.

Anyways, mosey on over and have a look at what he is saying about this  otherwise very capable keyboard.

Here's the link.

WiebeTech Drive eRazer - Reviewed

WiebeTech Drive eRazerWhen you delete a file from your computer, is it really gone?  Information theft is getting more coverage in mainstream media in recent times, most of us would be aware of potential loss of personal information if you lose a mobile device such as a notebook, iPod or mobile phone.

Or imagine this scenario.  You have just bought a state of the art new computer. All your data has been copied over to the new machine and deleted from the old machine.  You then sell it to another party for a tidy sum and it is the end of that story.  Or is it?

Thoroughly erasing data beyond recovery on a hard disk is a time and resource consuming task.  It is one that is not performed as often as necessary given the number of stories you read in which deleted personal data has been retrieved from hard disks.  The WiebeTech Drive eRazer (Drive eRazer) is a dedicated piece of hardware that can clean a hard disk to US Department of Defence standard (non-classified data) without the need for a host machine.

Thecus NAS Firmware Update: Stacked NAS and IP Camera.

Thecus 5200 ProTo most people a stacked NAS might refer to being able to physically place one NAS box atop another. Not Thecus.

Thecus’s Stacked NAS feature, introduced to the 5200 Pro/1U4500 via free firmware update, allows users to stack up to six Networked Attached Storage (NAS) boxes so that they can appear as one single large NAS unit. Put in perspective, this would allow one NAS unit to appear as over 25TB of storage. Wow.

To make administering quick and easy, Thecus have set up the system so that it can be controlled by one single master NAS unit which can be used to monitored the entire array.

And as this clearly isn’t a big enough update(!) Thecus have also added IP Camera functionality to the N5200/N5200Pro. This allows users to plug in a compatible IP Camera to periodically send snapshots to an email account, right from the NAS box. No PC required.

As we are currently evaluating the D-Link DNS-323 NAS device, we are keen to take a look at one of Thecus’s stackable monsters to see how it compares. Stay tuned.

Maxtor BlackArmorNot long after winding up a Y2K project (remember that?) one of my managers asked me what I thought is next on the horizon.  My answer was "security always has a place and it will get more complex and harder to defend your information".  Seagate's Maxtor division has introduced the BlackArmor, a 2.5 inch portable external storage solution featuring AES-grade encryption.
