QNAP

It is common for households to have more than one computers these days.  Because of that, people want to be able to share files easily.  Usually, people do this by sharing specific folders on their computer, but this requires one computer or another to be on.  This is where the utility of a networked attached storage (NAS) device comes in.  It is a central storage place that every computer on the network can access.

Today we will be looking at the Qnap TS 209 Pro II. This is meant for small/medium businesses, but can also be used in the home office as well.  What is different with this product is that you will find it packed with many more features than just your standard NAS product.  For example, you can use it as a media or web server.  Or you can use it to download Bittorent files as well.

Jabra SP700 Bluetooth Car Kit -- Reviewed

Jabra SP700 top viewFor almost as long as I can remember in Australia there has been a law against using "handheld battery operated devices" whilst driving.  Whilst I have not fallen foul to this particular law, I have known a few who have.  Seriously for the value of the fine and demerit points, getting some sort of hands free solution would be a far cheaper long term proposition not to mention general road safety.  The Jabra SP700 Bluetooth Car Kit is an interesting and attractive alternative to the many bluetooth headset solutions in the market.  With thanks to the ever helpful and generous Jabra team, DigitalReviews Network assesses how this gadget fares in the daily grind of this road warrior.

Staying up to speed with the GlobalTop SC-200 Speed Camera Advisor

GTop SC-200When I heard that I had the opportunity to review this small marvel of electronics, I wondered what would be the use to me. I have to go back a long time to explain my feelings to you on the subject of speed limits... and of course keeping within those limits. It's now some thirty five years ago, that I was trained to become a civil engineer. We had many lectures on road design, and it's like yesterday to me listening to one of the lecturers admonishing us: "When you drive keep within the speed limits: roads are designed to a specific maximum speed. It's for your own safety to stay within those limits!"

That stern warning has been in the back of my mind ever since, so I keep to speed limits. So why would I need an instrument that warns me of speed cameras? It's with a bit of scepticism I plugged it into the cigarette lighter, and took the GlobalTop SC-200 for a road test.

In this review I'll give you a first hand witness account of how I changed my mind, once I had the experience of going through an hour of heavy rush hour traffic in the city of the Hague, in the western part of the Netherlands.
