cenOmax 7 CenOmax, a spin off company from Lite-On, enters the digital photo frame market with a line of 7 inch units.  In an increasingly crowded market, do they have what it take to shine?

There are three products to the cenOmax initial foray, all being 7 inch units.  Importantly, the actual screens are 7 inch across excluding the frames.  Whilst they are not touch screens, a remote control is bundled.

Common features across the product line:
  * 7" widescreen TFT LCD;
  * contrast ratio of 400:1;
  * display digital photo slideshow (JPEG format);
  * slide show with MP3 support;
  * interchangeable frame (clip on);
  * matting mode & fade in option;
  * remote control;
  * 2 x built-in speakers;
  * USB connection;
  * Support to 2Gb memory cards; and
  * 9V DC power.

Measurements:
Dimensions: 240 x 172 x 38.5 mm
Weight: 615g

The differences across the line up are screen resolution and memory card support.  Resolution is either 480 x 234 pixels for the low end models, and 800 x 600 pixels for the top of the line.  Secondly the memory card support for the base model is SD/MMC/MS, with the two higher models adding support for xD and CF cards.

The minor limitations of the devices are that you can only display photos from either the internal memory or external memory card, and support to play music and photo simultaneously from memory card only.

Pricing will be around £50, available in Europe only at this stage.
