Jabra has announced their new enterprise "Multiuse" category and marks the milestone by launching the new Jabra BT5020 headset and new A7010 Bluetooth hub in a bundle. The "Multiuse" category of Bluetooth devices can be used with multiple communication devices, allowing office professionals and "road warriors" to use one headset with their mobile, desk phone and PC.
This new category addresses research results showing that more works are spending time out of the office. Analysts IDC, for example, recently reported that 86% of personnel working in large enterprises spend one day or more a week away from their office. In addition, flexible work schedules, which have emerged as a result of legislation and a desire to achieve a better work/life balance, are increasing demand for multiple communications devices. A third reason driving the need for multiuse headsets is the convergence of technologies.
The BT5020 headset is based on Jabra's "behind-the-ear" form factor, with MultiPoint technology to pair with multiple devices, and is optimised to reduce surrounding noise using DSP technology for crystal clear sound in a noisy environment. Users are alerted to new calls by a vibrating and visual signal. The BT5020 has up to 10 hours talk time and 250 hours of standby power.
The A7010 Bluetooth hub enabled the BT5020 to pair with desk phones. The A7010 is compatible with most standard corded desk phones: analogue, digital, PBX and IP; and is plug and play making it easy to install and use. The A7010 works with all Jabra Multiuse headsets which enables easy upgrade to new headsets.
Multiuse category covers some of Jabra's existing product lines, including the JX10 II and BT5010 headsets.
The Jabra BT5020 and A7010 bundle is available now for around USD$300.
