OCZ just announced a line of much faster SSDs with a built-in mini-USB port for firmware upgrades.
Already OCZ seem to be the price/performance leaders in this hotly contested market and they just ratcheted up the screws a bit more with the brand new Core Series V2 SSDs.
The SSDs will be available in 30GB, 60GB, 120GB, and 250GB storage capacities. More importantly, read speeds have increased to 170MB/sec with write speeds listed at 98MB/sec across the whole product range.
An interesting feature of the drives is the addition of a mini-USB port which allows end-users to increase the performance of their drives with future firmware updates from OCZ, although you wonder why the SATA cable could not be used for this.
We are currently testing MTRON's ultra-fast PRO7500 and it would be great to see how one of these beauties stack up against this. Stay tuned.
