WiebeTech has just announced the latest revision of their USB DriveDock, claimed to be their most economical DriveDock to date.
All it takes to get access to your drive is to plug the drive to the DriveDock, connect the power and an USB2 connection.
The WiebeTech USB DriveDock v4 connects to the following drive types:
* 3.5" SATA;
* 3.5" IDE/PATA;
* 2.5" (notebook) SATA; and
* 2.5" (notebook) IDE/PATA.
The USB DriveDock has two options for power input, whichever is more convenient:
* included AC adapter; or
* a 4-wire connector from the computer's own power supply.
A power status LED visually verifies that the unit is either switched on or off. A second LED confirms that the Dock is accessing the drive. A third LED confirms that a valid USB connection is established.
For additional protection to the drive, an included mounting plate can be screwed to the bottom of the drive to protect the electronic circuitry.
The USB DriveDock (Part # USBDV4) will retail for USD$49.95 from here <http://www.wiebetech.com>. Shipping commences in early December.
