Protect your iPod without the Bulk - Sleevz iPod Cases from RadTech

SleevzHaving just picked up a brand new 160GB iPod Classic, I’m still at the stage where I am desperately trying not to scratch or otherwise harm it. You see, I love the iPods svelte size and shape which means adding a case to it usually destroys the feel of the device.

Enter Ratech’s Sleevz.

Sleevz are made with Optex and are soft, tough and most importantly, 0.8mm thin. Sleevz also have a scratch free display window and the debossed control areas allow full use of the click wheel, despite it being completely enclosed. A small cut-out allows access to the iPod’s dock port and the sleeve remains open at the top for fitting and compatibility with other accessories.

We’re not sure how good these feel in the hand (or how well they protect the ipod), but they sure look good. They certainly do seem to keep the iPod’s shape and size down to a minimum and this, is exactly the way it should be.

Sleevz come in a variety of colours for all 3rd Generation and newer iPods and retail for $20.95US. See RadTech's website for more details.

HomeStar ProEver since I was a child I have dreamed of having my very own planetarium and Segatoys appear to have finally created a device to make that dream a reality: The HomeStar Pro.

The HomeStar Pro is a small spherical device that can project 10,000 stars on your ceiling or wall at home - just like a real planetarium. The unit is portable and the teacher in me thinks the HomeStar Pro would be an ideal teaching aid to learn about our universe.

Eton FR1000Eton's FR1000 is a self-powered hand crank radio that allows you to stay informed even when all regular means of power are exhausted. Not only does this unit allow you to tune into AM, FM and weather band frequencies, but it also has a built in Voicelink for two way communication, ala walkie-talkie.

The FR1000 also features a flashlight, a beacon light that can function as an SOS signal, and a siren. All of which can be powered by a twist of a crank. Awesome.
