You may often find indispensible advice here and a no-nonsense attitude to evaluating the products.
We don’t go for the bits-and-bytes approach but aim to address the core factor: value-for-money for the average end-user.

| Powermat Mat |
As a gadget reviewer and having a high level of gadgets in my daily repertoire, the amount of chargers I have to remember, tag and keep track of is staggering. As a result I have been keeping an eye on wireless charging systems for a little while. When Powermat announced their launch in April, Simms International was more than happy to send me a loaner to test drive.
The Powermat wireless charging system is billed as the solution to every household's problem with lost chargers and tangled wires. Let's see just how well it does the job.

Our latest test platform is an ASUS laptop with an Intel core i7 CPU and, for the purposes of this review, an internal Altec Lansing SRS premium sound system. That's a pretty decent set of speakers for a medium to large laptop. And I've been pretty pleased with the results until...the folks at Audion sent me the latest USB speakers from Ravon!
I’ve often been frustrated by the lack of speaker output on note- or netbooks. In particular my previous ASUS VJ1 business notebook suffered from lack of oompf in that department. You could not enjoy audio without some headphones!
So as my current computer provides a good improvement for listening. I might not have looked for even more improvement but, like I said, the importer for Ravon insisted we review these slim USB speakers.
So how did we fare?

All I can say is where are the police when you really need ‘em?? Not really, but on this occasion it would have been nice to have them around so we could provide some adequate testing for the two units.
We even lent the two detectors to some “hoony” friends to test, with the test base being country and metropolitan areas.
We found one of the test units to be pretty exciting, and so this is how it went!

| BigLeash Box |
We all love a well-trained dog. But training a dog is not always easy and we need all the help that we can get. These days electronic training units are very much in vogue. After our first dog training unit which we reviewed a couple of months ago we received a request to take a good look at the BigLeash from DogWatch and supplied by courtesy of Ace Dog Supplies. The BigLeash seems to be the top dog, so to speak, when it comes to these remote training units.
I don't know if my dog was looking forward to this training session but I certainly was and here are the results.
