Two copies of Realflight G5
Well, it’s been a long time coming, this is supposed to be the best software available for games where you can play and learn to fly at the same time. With over 80 aircraft to choose from and 30 fly sites, grab your parachute and join me as we get right into a few learn to fly/combat missions where anything goes.

As this is reportedly as good as you get for simulated games, we will put it on our two high powered gaming computers and use both the 30” Dell monitors on 2560 x 1940 resolution in a multiplayer LAN shoot ‘em up. As an added bonus, we even have some “high end” actual Great Planes to test in the flesh and see if we are as good as the “Red Baron” after using the same planes in the G5 Simulator.

Spektrum DX8 transmitter
I sometimes wonder how this company can keep on improving the product, but here we go again with the latest from Spektrum. Of course, we are talking about the new DX8 that has all sorts of electronic “goodies”. It can talk to the receiver and, for the first time, get some answers back.

It also has some additional features over the DX7 that improves the remote Plane/Heli model control. This is Spektrum’s flagship transmitter and it has only been in Australia a couple of weeks, so let’s see what new things it can do and whether it makes life easier when flying electric planes…

Read more...If you have done any snorkelling or diving did you ever dream of moving in the water as gracefully and effortlessly as a seal or dolphin? I know I have, particularly if I wanted to chase fast moving fish or quickly dive to a depth that you would not normally get to under your own steam.
This is the world of the Bladefish.
And a Bladefish is?  you might ask....
Also known as an aqua scooter, the Seajet from Bladefish propels you through the water with a hand-held propeller. You might even irreverently refer to it as a hand-held desk fan….
How much fun would that be?
Come and join us as we snorkel and dive until we saw the dolphins becoming jealous….

Cessna 182 500 class
Well, class by name and even classier in the flesh, the Art-Tech 500 Class Cessna 182  is certainly a high end product. We have already reviewed the baby brother Cessna 182, which is now amongst the 16 or so RC electric aeroplanes that will be included in the Comparative Grid which is likely to be completed in early November 2010. Rumours say that this ‘plane is probably the cream of the EGO Importer models and initial findings all point to this being true.

Does it look as good as it’s rumoured? Does it fly as well as it looks?

Come with us for a Birdseye view as we put it through some stringent tests we’ve marked all the rest on.

Phoenix test on these 3 planes
An absolute “must buy purchase” if you are considering becoming a model plane pilot.

My intention is to show just how good this flight simulator package is by using my first hand experiences and commenting on actual dynamic comparisons. I will use example planes such as the Trojan T28D, F4U Corsair and the EF2000 Euro fighter jet which are only three of the many planes that are able to be chosen within the Phoenix’s Flight Simulator’s programme.

So let me convince you that the minimal cost in purchasing this simulation programme is well worth it and it will stop you following in my footsteps whereby I learnt the hard way first.

Dragon V24 920 EP
Looks like a black bullet - 920 mm long with heaps of aesthetic appeal.  I’m talking about the V24 MDF 920 EP remote controlled electric racing boat built by Dragon.  We have tested three of the Aquacraft range, one of the Joysway’s, and whilst Wirelesshobbyz has them all, at our request he has sent us something we thought should be a bit different.

Does it go as good as it looks?

Joysway Surge Crusher
Time to do the last of the four radio controlled boats.  Another pleasurable exercise as this boat’s finish at first glance is as good as the Supervee27 we have just reviewed.  The electric Joysway Surge Crusher is also up there in the high performance Semi Pro arena, where customers demand high speed and handling.

The advertised speed is given as 60 km/h so stick around while I put it through similar test areas to the other boats and see how it comes out.

So let’s go!
