Read more: Eagletac Jetbeam Best Brightest LED Torches – ReviewedRead more: Eagletac Jetbeam Best Brightest LED Torches – ReviewedWhile batteries pack in higher performance and technology improves lighting, we are taking great steps in LED efficiencies so it becomes a very changeable market in the torch world. So much so, that our new friends at the LED Torch Shop told us we could pick anything out of their huge selection to review. They had EagleTac, Fenix, Jetbeam, Led Lenser, Microfire, Nitecore, Sunwayman, and Surefire.

We selected what we thought would be the two brightest and go the furthest LED Torches - an Eagletac M3C4 @ 800 Lumens and the even more powerful Jetbeam RRT3 @ 1200 lumens.

How did they go? Read on as we evaluated them in comparison to see what came out the “best for the buck”.

Read more: Playon!HD Mini from A C Ryan – ReviewedAbout a year ago we tested the Playon!HD Mini’s bigger brother on this site. Have a look at Paul Moons’ review here. This will serve as the background article for the Mini as the functionality is essentially the same. So my review will focus mainly on the hardware side of things, including the wireless USB adaptor that BlueChipIT graciously supplied with the unit.

The PR blurb describes the Playon!HD Mini as “Sexy, compact, completely silent and feature packed” which -- they hope  -- should make the Mini the must have media streamer for your digital lifestyle...

Read more: Qref Aviation Checklists Revisited – ReviewedIf you have been following the DigitalReviews Network sites for many years you would know that we have a keen interest in all things aviation related.

Today we will be revisiting our friends at Qref whose main mission in life is to bring the most useful and comprehensive aviation checklists to the market. We had a good look at one of their first productions: the Garmin 430 avionics checklist which you find here. That review gives you a lot of background information on the company so today we can be brief about the checklists for the Cessna 172R and the Bendix King KLN89.

The sturdy flip-over format of these checklists will make it easy to incorporate these with your knee board and are priced at just a tad under US$25.

Read more: Ultra Micro Parkzone T28 Trojan – ReviewedAt the time of writing this article, the Parkzone Ultra Micro Trojan is the hottest contender for “best beginner plane” of the year award. We have selected and reviewed 21 planes over a five month period and by using a grid for grading the different strengths and weaknesses of each plane hope that the review due for release in ten days time will prove invaluable to people in the remote control plane business The article is the largest of it’s kind ever done and all planes have been assessed relative to each other, giving far greater accuracy than comparing planes written by different reviewers.

We have, to date, spent five months putting the article together and it is currently not on schedule but will be published on this site during the third week of November 2010. But enough on what’s coming up, let’s tell you about how fantastic this little plane is!

Read more: Great Planes RealFlight RC Flight Simulator G5 – ReviewedWell, it’s been a long time coming, this is supposed to be the best software available for games where you can play and learn to fly at the same time. With over 80 aircraft to choose from and 30 fly sites, grab your parachute and join me as we get right into a few learn to fly/combat missions where anything goes.

As this is reportedly as good as you get for simulated games, we will put it on our two high powered gaming computers and use both the 30” Dell monitors on 2560 x 1940 resolution in a multiplayer LAN shoot ‘em up. As an added bonus, we even have some “high end” actual Great Planes to test in the flesh and see if we are as good as the “Red Baron” after using the same planes in the G5 Simulator.

Read more: Spektrum DX8 Transmitter – ReviewedI sometimes wonder how this company can keep on improving the product, but here we go again with the latest from Spektrum. Of course, we are talking about the new DX8 that has all sorts of electronic “goodies”. It can talk to the receiver and, for the first time, get some answers back.

It also has some additional features over the DX7 that improves the remote Plane/Heli model control. This is Spektrum’s flagship transmitter and it has only been in Australia a couple of weeks, so let’s see what new things it can do and whether it makes life easier when flying electric planes…

Read more: Bladefish BF- 5000 SeaJet - ReviewedIf you have done any snorkelling or diving did you ever dream of moving in the water as gracefully and effortlessly as a seal or dolphin? I know I have, particularly if I wanted to chase fast moving fish or quickly dive to a depth that you would not normally get to under your own steam.
This is the world of the Bladefish. And a Bladefish is?  you might ask....

Also known as an aqua scooter, the Seajet from Bladefish propels you through the water with a hand-held propeller. You might even irreverently refer to it as a hand-held desk fan…. How much fun would that be?

Come and join us as we snorkel and dive until we saw the dolphins becoming jealous….

Read more: RC Electric Plane Art-Tech 500 Class Cessna 182 – ReviewedWell, class by name and even classier in the flesh, the Art-Tech 500 Class Cessna 182  is certainly a high end product. We have already reviewed the baby brother Cessna 182, which is now amongst the 16 or so RC electric aeroplanes that will be included in the Comparative Grid which is likely to be completed in early November 2010. Rumours say that this ‘plane is probably the cream of the EGO Importer models and initial findings all point to this being true.

Does it look as good as it’s rumoured? Does it fly as well as it looks? (See 21 Best RC electric planes compared - this site)
Come with us for a Birdseye view as we put it through some stringent tests we’ve marked all the rest on.
