AMD is getting behind Capcom’s long-awaited return to the Onimusha franchise, offering a free copy of Onimusha: Way of the Sword with the purchase of selected Ryzen processors and Radeon graphics cards.

Running now through 26 September 2026, the promotion covers eligible standalone AMD hardware as well as qualifying AMD-powered systems purchased through participating retailers.

The timing lines up neatly with the game’s 4 September 2026 release, when eligible buyers will be able to download and play their bundled copy.

Onimusha returns after two decades

Onimusha: Way of the Sword marks the first new mainline entry in Capcom’s samurai action series in around two decades.

Set in a dark fantasy interpretation of Edo-era Kyoto, the game combines samurai sword combat with the supernatural horror elements that helped distinguish the original Onimusha games.

For AMD, it’s also a suitably demanding showcase for its current gaming hardware, with the bundle spanning some of the company’s highest-performance Ryzen X3D processors and Radeon RX 9000-series graphics cards.

What’s included in the AMD bundle?

Customers purchasing an eligible AMD Ryzen processor, Radeon RX graphics card or qualifying AMD-configured system from a participating retailer will receive an AMD Coupon Code.

The code can be redeemed for a copy of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, with the game becoming available to download following its launch on 4 September.

The promotion runs until 26 September 2026, although as usual with hardware game bundles, buyers should check that their particular retailer and product are participating before purchasing.

With Onimusha: Way of the Sword reviving a franchise that has been largely dormant for two decades, it’s a considerably more interesting inclusion than simply throwing another game into the box. If an AMD gaming upgrade was already on the cards, getting Capcom’s latest samurai outing along with it isn’t a bad bonus.
