Dreame has highlighted the scale of its long-term investment in intelligent floor-cleaning technologies, announcing that it has now surpassed 2,000 patent applications worldwide, with more than 800 patents granted.

The milestone offers an insight into just how heavily the company is investing behind the scenes. According to Dreame, research and development professionals make up more than 70% of its wet and dry vacuum division, while approximately 7% of annual sales revenue is reinvested into R&D.

Rather than focusing solely on today’s products, Dreame says its research strategy spans multiple generations of development. This allows the company to refine existing technologies, develop new capabilities for upcoming products and explore longer-term innovations that may eventually make their way into future devices.

Many of those patented technologies have already appeared in products released over the past few years. These include the 180° Lie-Flat Reach cleaning system, the 9.85cm Ultra-Slim Body design, the AI DescendReach Robotic Arm, and TÜV-certified 100% Tangle-Free Technology, each aimed at solving common frustrations encountered in day-to-day floor cleaning.

The company’s focus has also extended to improving performance in traditionally difficult cleaning scenarios. Dreame’s EdgeHunter™ Mopping System is designed to improve cleaning along walls, edges and corners, while its 400°C Steam + 90°C Hot Water Dual-Heat Floor Wash System targets stubborn grease and dried-on messes through a combination of high-temperature steam and hot water cleaning.

Beyond the technology itself, the investment appears to be translating into commercial growth. Dreame says its wet and dry vacuum range is now available in more than 120 countries and regions, with cumulative global shipments surpassing 10 million units as of May 2026.

For consumers, patent numbers alone rarely tell the whole story. What ultimately matters is whether those innovations solve real-world cleaning problems, improve reliability and make products easier to live with over the long term. Nevertheless, surpassing 2,000 patent applications demonstrates the scale of Dreame’s engineering investment as competition in the smart cleaning market continues to intensify.

Congratulations to the Dreame team on reaching this significant milestone.
