A new partnership between beloved Australian children’s entertainer Emma Memma and creative technology company Cricut is helping turn creativity into meaningful support for Deaf education across Australia.

Launched today, the collaboration introduces a collection of licensed Emma Memma-themed images to Cricut Design Space, available to Cricut members globally. Inspired by Emma Memma’s Jungle Picnic Tour and her recently released lift-the-flap book, Hide and Seek!, the collection gives crafters access to a suite of illustrations from her whimsical Jungle Picnic world while raising funds for Deaf Connect.

All proceeds from the collection will support the Deaf Connect Leonie Jackson Memorial Fund, which funds projects that expand access to quality bilingual education for Deaf children.

Emma Memma, alongside co-performer Elvin Melvin (played by Deaf performer Elvin Lam), has built her career around making entertainment more accessible through the inclusion of Australian Sign Language (Auslan). The new Cricut image collection extends that commitment beyond the stage, giving families, educators and crafters a way to celebrate Emma Memma’s colourful world while contributing to an important cause.

The collection includes popular characters such as Emma Memma, Elvin Melvin, BB Butterfly and Waffles the Wombat, along with Jungle Picnic-themed illustrations designed for creative projects including Book Week costumes, classroom decorations, birthday celebrations and personalised crafts.

To celebrate the launch ahead of Book Week, Emma Memma and Cricut are also giving away a signed copy of Hide and Seek! along with a Cricut prize pack, offering families and educators another way to get involved.

The initiative is a first for Cricut’s global Contributing Artist Program, with Emma Memma becoming the first contributing artist to donate all proceeds from her designs to a not-for-profit organisation.

Nicola Dow-Smith, Regional Director for Cricut ANZ, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to creating a more inclusive creative community.

We strive to provide our members with inclusive, diverse and locally relevant designs so that everyone who creates with Cricut feels welcomed, represented and inspired,” Dow-Smith said.

The Leonie Jackson Memorial Fund was established by Deaf Connect in 2021 to honour the legacy of Deaf education advocate Leonie Jackson. The fund supports projects that promote bilingual education, recognising the importance of ensuring Deaf children have access to learning in both Auslan and English, regardless of their communication preferences.

For the disability community, the collaboration demonstrates how commercial partnerships can create tangible social impact, combining creativity, representation and philanthropy to support greater educational inclusion for Deaf children and their families.

And if you’re looking for an engaging activity to keep children entertained at home – whether during Book Week preparations, on a rainy day or while they’re under the weather – Emma Memma’s Jungle Picnic-inspired memory game is available free on Cricut Design Space.
