The latest data from International Data Corporation (IDC) officially crowns Epson as the number one manufacturer and vendor of inkjet printers worldwide by volume.
Epson inkjet printers include the hugely successful EcoTank range, which covers the home, small office, home office and photo markets. Epson inkjet technology is also prevalent in industrial applications, commercial large format printers (LFP) and the WorkForce Enterprise and WorkForce Pro ranges, which meet the needs of offices large and small. The latest data has Epson claiming 34.1% global market share.
A significant contributing factor to recent growth is that Epson inkjet printers use Heat-Free Technology, which consumes significantly less energy than traditional laser printing technology. They are also more sustainable, requiring fewer consumable parts that require regular replacement, resulting in less waste and a total cost of ownership that is typically lower than comparable laser printers.
Epson GM Marketing Bruce Bealby said, “We are delighted to be the global leader, achieving the number one market share in inkjet printers worldwide. This marks Epson’s strongest performance to date in the inkjet category and is a testament to the efficiency, sustainability and growing popularity of our technology across both consumer and business markets.”
Congratulations Epson!
