D-Link ANZ has expanded its industrial networking portfolio with four new hardened Ethernet switches designed for environments where conventional networking equipment is unlikely to withstand the demands of day-to-day operation.

The new lineup includes the flagship DIS-310G-24X Layer 3 Managed Switch, the DIS-210G-12 and DIS-210G-12UP smart-managed switches, and the entry-level DIS-100E-05 unmanaged industrial switch.

Across the range, D-Link has standardised several industrial features including IP40-rated metal enclosures, fan-less cooling, 6kV surge protection on Ethernet ports and operating temperatures from -40°C to +75°C.

Targeting sectors including manufacturing, mining, transport, utilities, agriculture and large-scale surveillance, the new range combines industrial-grade durability with enterprise networking features, allowing organisations to deploy reliable connectivity in locations exposed to extreme temperatures, electrical interference and power surges.

Enterprise performance for industrial environments

Leading the announcement is the DIS-310G-24X, a Layer 3 managed switch aimed at larger industrial deployments requiring advanced routing, network segmentation and high-speed backbone connectivity.

The switch provides 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports, four Gigabit SFP fibre uplinks and four 10Gb SFP+ interfaces, making it suitable for aggregation points supporting surveillance networks, industrial automation systems and large sensor deployments.

Additional features include:

  • Layer 3 routing with advanced QoS and security
  • ERPS ring redundancy with sub-50ms failover
  • Loopback detection and cable diagnostics
  • DIN-rail and wall-mount installation options
  • Compact industrial chassis measuring 100 x 140 x 170 mm

According to D-Link, the combination of Layer 3 functionality and 10Gb uplinks allows organisations to separate operational technology (OT) traffic from traditional IT networks while avoiding bandwidth bottlenecks created by large numbers of high-definition cameras or industrial devices.

Smart-managed options for growing networks

For mid-sized industrial installations, D-Link has introduced the DIS-210G-12, a smart-managed switch offering eight Gigabit Ethernet ports alongside four Gigabit SFP fibre uplinks.

Rather than requiring command-line configuration, the switch is managed through a web interface while still supporting enterprise features including ERPS ring redundancy for network resilience.

D-Link positions the model for applications such as warehouse automation, city surveillance projects and distributed building management systems where remote visibility can reduce maintenance visits and simplify troubleshooting.

High-power PoE for connected infrastructure

The DIS-210G-12UP builds on the same platform while adding Power over Ethernet capabilities for installations requiring both power and data over a single network cable.

It provides:

  • Six PoE+ ports delivering up to 30W each
  • Two PoE++ ports delivering up to 60W each
  • Four Gigabit SFP fibre uplinks
  • Industrial IP40 enclosure
  • 6kV surge protection
  • Operating temperatures from -40°C to +75°C

The higher-powered PoE++ ports are intended to support devices such as PTZ security cameras, wireless access points, IP intercom systems and access control hardware without requiring separate electrical infrastructure at each installation point.

Affordable industrial networking

Completing the range is the DIS-100E-05, an unmanaged five-port Fast Ethernet switch aimed at smaller industrial deployments and legacy equipment upgrades.

Despite its entry-level positioning, the switch still incorporates industrial-grade construction with a fan-less metal enclosure, DIN-rail mounting, dual DC power inputs for redundancy, Energy Efficient Ethernet support and 6kV surge protection.

With an Australian recommended retail price below $150, D-Link says the switch lowers the barrier to deploying industrial networking in remote monitoring applications, agricultural sensor networks and small automation projects.

Built for reliability

D-Link says the expanded industrial portfolio has been developed to minimise downtime in environments where standard commercial networking hardware is vulnerable to heat, vibration, electrical noise and power fluctuations.

Features such as fan-less cooling reduce mechanical failure points, while ERPS redundancy enables rapid failover should a network link be interrupted. Smart-managed models also support remote diagnostics, helping administrators identify faults without requiring on-site visits.

The company says organisations can deploy the switches across projects ranging from small edge installations through to large industrial networks while maintaining a consistent management experience as deployments scale.
