FUJIFILM Australia has expanded its premium instant camera lineup with the launch of the instax mini 99 Silver Edition, giving Australian photographers another stylish option while retaining the advanced analogue creative controls that have made the camera a standout in the instax range.

The new model swaps the existing finish for a sophisticated matte silver body inspired by classic film cameras, appealing to creators and photography enthusiasts looking for both performance and timeless design.

Premium analogue creativity

The instax mini 99 distinguishes itself from many instant cameras by offering a range of analogue creative controls that allow users to customise the look of their images before they are printed.

Among its standout features is Colour Effect Control, which uses coloured LEDs inside the camera to produce six distinct colour expressions directly onto the instant film. Rather than relying on digital filters, the effects are created optically during exposure, preserving the analogue shooting experience.

The camera also includes Vignette Mode, allowing photographers to subtly darken the edges of an image for a more dramatic or cinematic appearance.

Combined with Brightness Control, these creative options encourage experimentation with lighting, colour and composition, ensuring each print can have its own unique character.

Built for everyday adventures

Designed for more than just casual snapshots, the instax mini 99 features a removable rechargeable battery capable of producing approximately 100 prints per charge.

FUJIFILM also includes a detachable grip with an integrated tripod mount, making it easier to capture self-portraits, long exposures and group photos during holidays, festivals and special occasions.

Australian availability

The FUJIFILM instax mini 99 Silver Edition is available in Australia from 30 July 2026 with a recommended retail price of A$279 (including GST).

Mary Georgievski, General Manager – Photographic Imaging at FUJIFILM Australia, said the new finish builds on the growing popularity of premium analogue instant photography.

“The instax mini 99 has been incredibly popular with consumers looking for an instant camera that offers both creative flexibility and premium design. The new Silver edition gives photographers another way to express their personal style while delivering the same distinctive analogue shooting experience that makes every instax print one of a kind.”

The launch continues FUJIFILM Australia’s investment in instant photography, with the instax range encouraging users to capture and share memories in a physical format that can be enjoyed long after the moment has passed.
