At CES 2026, Hisense expanded their 2026 portfolio with the introduction of the new UR TV range alongside the latest UX, ULED and CanvasTV models.
The addition to range reinforces Hisense’s leadership in display innovation, delivering cutting-edge technology designed around people, their homes, and the moments they share together.
In 2025, Hisense reshaped the colour conversation entirely by introducing the first consumer RGB MiniLED TV, pioneering innovative backlighting technology that represented a generational leap forward in picture quality, intelligence and efficiency. Now, Hisense advances that leadership by debuting a system-level evolution in RGB MiniLED development; RGB MiniLED evo, expanding the colour spectrum and deepening wavelength-level precision beyond what RGB alone can achieve.
“RGB MiniLED is the foundation of Hisense’s home entertainment strategy, setting the benchmark for next-generation display innovation,” said Kevin Ke, Managing Director, Hisense Australia and New Zealand. “It delivers exceptional quality and value while creating shared entertainment experiences that bring families together. As we expand this technology across more sizes and series, we’re redefining what ultimate entertainment looks like in everyday life.”
DRN had the pleasure of reviewing the Hisense 75U8QAU recently and Kevin is still sobbing in the corner having to return the unit.
The origin of RGB MiniLED innovation
As the originator of RGB MiniLED, Hisense continues to lead the industry’s advancement of display technology. Unlike traditional MiniLED solutions that rely on white or blue LEDs passing through a filter layer to produce colour, RGB MiniLED uses individually controlled red, green and blue LEDs, enabled by Hisense’s proprietary dual-chip architecture.
By activating only the red, green and blue LEDs required at any given moment, RGB MiniLED eliminates the need for a colour filter layer, delivering the most accurate, vibrant and intelligent display technology available today. This approach enables best-in-class colour accuracy, contrast and brilliance, while also improving efficiency – reducing energy consumption by up to 20% compared with other display technologies.
This year, rather than pursuing parameter-driven performance alone, Hisense has debuted RGB MiniLED evo, introducing an industry-first Sky Blue–Cyan fourth LED into the backlight, completing one of the most commonly missing portions of the natural light spectrum.
Powering this innovation is Hisense’s dual-chip architecture, combining the Hi-View AI Engine RGB Chip with a dedicated RGB MiniLED control chip. By splitting processing workloads, the system enables precise, synchronised control of colour and brightness through advanced AI optimisation, delivering up to a 100% improvement in scene adaptation, a 70% increase in scene perception, and a 40% boost in overall computing performance. This ensures consistently accurate, lifelike visuals across all viewing scenarios.
Pushing the boundaries of big-screen performance
Building on the success of the 116-inch UX RGB MiniLED TV released in 2025, Hisense continues to push the limits of large-format display innovation with the next-generation UX range with the launch of the 116UXS in 2026.
Powered by Hisense’s dual-chip architecture, the 116-inch UX TV will feature the brand’s new RGB MiniLED evo technology and the addition of a cyan LED, which delivers the richest and most precise colour reproduction on the market, achieving 110% of BT.2020, and Pantone and Pantone SkinTone certifications.
Cyan sits in the part of the spectrum where human vision is most sensitive to subtle changes, and its addition allows the 116-inch UX to render gradients, tones, and transitions with a level of nuance that feels more natural and lifelike. Scenes gain depth without oversaturation, shadows reveal smoother detail, and bright content maintains clarity, creating a picture that feels richer and more dimensional in everyday viewing, not just in dramatic HDR moments.
To ensure these colours perform at their best in any environment, Hisense has further advanced its anti-glare technology, introducing a new anti-glare matte technology that works in tandem with Anti-Reflection Pro to minimise reflections and visual distractions.
To complement its visuals, Hisense continues its partnership with Devialet, integrating the immersive 6.2.2 CineStage X Surround sound system. Tuned by Devialet’s audio experts, the system delivers premium, room-filling sound for a truly cinematic experience.
Democratising Premium Display Technology with the UR Series
Expanding its RGB MiniLED offering, Hisense unveiled the all-new UR Series, including UR9 and UR8 models. Available in sizes ranging from a blockbuster 100 inches down to 55 inches, the UR Series brings RGB MiniLED performance to more homes and more price points. By extending this technology beyond flagship models, Hisense ensures more Australians can enjoy cinema-level picture quality without compromise.
The UR range leverages the same dual-chip RGB MiniLED architecture found in the UX lineup, and Hisense’s new anti-glare matte technology, delivering accurate, vibrant colour and comfortable viewing at any time of day, regardless of room brightness.
For gamers, the UR Series raises performance expectations with Game Mode Ultra, supporting refresh rates of up to 180Hz for ultra-smooth motion, lightning-fast responsiveness and a competitive edge for next-generation gaming.
Feature-Packed Entertainment for Every Home
Alongside RGB MiniLED, Hisense continues to elevate its ULED lineup, pairing its category-leading MiniLED technology with Devialet-tuned immersive audio for the first time, further enhancing the cinematic experience available across the range.
Responding to strong consumer demand, Hisense has also evolved its CanvasTV range, blending art, design and display innovation. Featuring Hi-QLED technology, a Hi-Matte Display, and Gallery Mode, CanvasTV transforms into an artistic centrepiece when not in use – enhancing the look and feel of modern living spaces.
Beyond hardware, Hisense also highlighted the evolution of its smart display ecosystem. From this year, VIDAA will transition to V, with VIDAA OS becoming V homeOS. Additionally, Hisense has announced a strategic collaboration with Microsoft to integrate Copilot’s generative AI capabilities into V homeOS, advancing next-generation TV experiences for large-screen home environments. The collaboration also extends to Xbox cloud gaming, bringing world-class video game titles directly to Hisense TVs – no console required.
Through its 2026 home entertainment lineup, Hisense demonstrates that the future of television is not just about bigger or brighter screens, but about delivering meaningful innovation – technology that offers premium quality, genuine value and shared experiences that connect modern Australian households.
“The breadth of choice across our range is more than a showcase of display technology leadership for Hisense – it’s a philosophy of innovation that starts with people,” said Ke. “As the first brand to introduce RGB MiniLED to consumers, we remain committed to advancing its potential and redefining the ultimate home entertainment experience.”
Further details on Hisense’s 2026 home entertainment range, including Australian availability and pricing, will be announced in the coming months.
