Hisense launches HiClips open-ear earbuds in Australia, expanding into personal audio

Hisense Australia has officially expanded into the personal audio category with the local launch of the Hisense HiClips, bringing the company’s clip-style open-ear earbuds to Australian consumers for the first time.

Available now exclusively through Hisense Australia, HiClips represents the company’s first move beyond its established home entertainment and appliance portfolio into wearable audio.

Designed for everyday awareness

Unlike traditional in-ear earbuds that seal the ear canal, HiClips adopts an open-ear design, allowing wearers to remain aware of conversations, traffic and other environmental sounds while listening to audio.

Hisense says the earbuds have been developed for modern lifestyles, making them suitable for commuting, exercising, working remotely and everyday use where situational awareness remains important.

We’re incredibly excited to introduce HiClips and bring the Hisense entertainment experience into an entirely new category,” said Kevin Ke, Managing Director of Hisense ANZ.

At Hisense, we believe great technology should enhance everyday life, not disconnect us from it.

Lightweight comfort

Each earbud weighs just 5.5 grams, with a flexible titanium-nickel C-bridge frame wrapped in soft-touch silicone designed to comfortably adapt to different ear shapes.

Rather than disappearing into the ear canal, HiClips is intended to become part of the user’s everyday style, arriving in four colour options:

  • Vitality Orange
  • Cloud White
  • Graphite Blue
  • Midnight Black

Premium sound without isolation

Hisense says HiClips combines its experience in home entertainment with acoustically tuned hardware to deliver balanced audio while maintaining awareness of surrounding sounds.

Features include:

  • Open-ear acoustic design
  • Patented anti-leak audio technology
  • Multiple listening modes
  • Smart noise reduction
  • Dual microphones for voice calls

The company says this combination allows users to enjoy music and podcasts while remaining connected to their surroundings.

Smart features for daily use

HiClips also incorporates a number of intelligent features designed to simplify everyday listening.

Dual-device connectivity allows users to switch between compatible phones, tablets and laptops without repeatedly pairing devices.

Intelligent wear detection automatically recognises which earbud is being worn in either ear, reducing setup complexity.

Using the ConnectLife app, owners can customise:

  • Tap controls
  • Shortcut functions
  • Earbud settings
  • Locate misplaced earbuds using the built-in tracking feature

Fast charging also provides several hours of playback from only a short charging session, helping users stay powered throughout the day.

Pricing and availability

The Hisense HiClips is available from 10 August 2026 exclusively through Hisense Australia in four colour options for an RRP of A$199.

DRN Thoughts

Open-ear earbuds have quickly become one of the fastest-growing segments of personal audio, appealing to commuters, runners and office workers who value environmental awareness as much as sound quality. With HiClips, Hisense is entering a competitive market that already includes established players such as Shokz, Bose, Sony and TOZO.

At A$199, HiClips positions itself as a premium lifestyle option, combining lightweight comfort, open-ear listening, smart features and seamless device connectivity. Real-world performance, particularly audio quality, microphone clarity and long-term comfort, will ultimately determine how successfully Hisense can establish itself in this increasingly crowded category.
