Ring has launched Ring Intercom in Australia for the first time, introducing a smart, apartment-friendly solution that allows residents to see, speak to and grant access to visitors from anywhere using the Ring App.
The launch addresses a common frustration for apartment dwellers. New research commissioned by Amazon reveals that 79% of Australians living in apartments find it stressful waiting for deliveries when they are not home and unable to grant building access, while 89% say they would value the ability to remotely let delivery drivers into their building using their phone.
Designed to make apartment living more convenient, Ring Intercom gives residents greater control over who enters their building, whether they are at home, at work or travelling overseas. Through Live Video View and Two-Way Talk, users can see and speak with visitors in real time before granting access directly from the Ring App. Customers with compatible Echo Show devices can also enjoy hands-free video monitoring and communication.
Helping Australians Never Miss a Delivery
Missed deliveries remain a significant challenge for apartment residents.
According to Amazon research:
- 76% of apartment residents missed at least one parcel in their last 10 deliveries
- 58% have stayed home from work or adjusted their workday to receive a parcel
- 87% have relied on someone else to collect at least one delivery on their behalf
- 26% have spent 30 minutes or more recovering missed deliveries
Ring Intercom helps address these challenges by allowing residents to visually verify visitors and remotely unlock their building entrance from virtually anywhere. To provide greater peace of mind, Ring Intercom includes Visitor Snapshot, which automatically captures images whenever the intercom is activated. Customers can also access up to 180 days of video history, creating a visual record of visitors and deliveries.
Ring has also introduced Quick Replies, enabling customers to respond to visitors with pre-recorded messages when they are unavailable. Whether directing a courier to leave a parcel in a safe location or informing visitors when they will return, Quick Replies offer a simple way to manage building access remotely.
