Sony Australia has announced the FE 100-400mm F5.6-8 OSS, a new full-frame E-mount super-telephoto zoom lens aimed at photographers looking for extended reach in a compact package.
The lens offers a 100-400mm focal range while weighing approximately 654g, making it suitable for travel and handheld photography. Sony says its optical design includes two Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements and two aspherical elements to deliver image quality across the zoom range.
The FE 100-400mm F5.6-8 OSS also features fast autofocus for tracking moving subjects including birds, sports, trains and aircraft, along with built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation to assist handheld shooting at longer focal lengths.
The Sony FE 100-400mm F5.6-8 OSS is available to pre-order in Australia from 5 to 23 August, with retail availability from 24 August 2026. It carries a recommended retail price of A$1,399.
