A significant roadblock to smart door locks has been cost. TP-Link Australia aims to change that conversation with the launch of the Tapo DL105.
Available now, the DL105 is a smart Wi-Fi deadbolt that gives homeowners six ways to unlock their front door without a traditional key. It joins the existing Tapo DL110 to form a complete smart lock range at two price points.
The keypad includes peek-proof entry, allowing users to enter decoy digits before or after their real code. Access can also be managed for different people – permanent codes for household members, one-time codes for guests, or scheduled codes for regular visitors such as cleaners or dog walkers.
Tapo DL105 vs DL110: Comparing TP-Link Smart Lock Models
The Tapo DL110 is the range’s flagship model. It carries IP65 weatherproofing, BHMA Grade 2 certification, a matte zinc alloy finish, and works with Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings.
The new DL105 offers the same core features. One-year battery life, built-in doorbell, auto-lock, USB-C charging, Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Google Home compatibility, with IP54 weatherproofing and BHMA Grade 3 certification.
Both models include a removable and rechargeable battery, with a USB-C port for emergency top-up power.

Each lock is managed through the Tapo app, which shows a timestamped log of every entry. Automatic lockout activates after multiple failed attempts, with real-time alerts sent directly to the owner’s phone.
