The TOZO NC20 Wireless Earbuds offer a great mix of performance, battery life, and durability at a budget-friendly price, making them a strong contender for everyday use.

Unboxing the TOZO NC20: First Impressions

Right from the start, the unboxing experience is simple and practical. The packaging is clean and minimalistic, with no premium extras or flashy presentation. Inside the box, you get the earbuds, a compact charging case, a USB-C charging cable, several pairs of silicone ear tips for different fits (super handy), a quick start guide and a user manual. It is a straightforward setup that focuses on essentials rather than luxury, which aligns with the product’s value-driven approach. The buds come in three colour ways – black, champagne and rose gold.

Clear little bites of information

80-Hour Battery Life: A Commuter’s Dream

Battery performance is one of the standout features. The earbuds deliver up to 16 hours of playback on a single charge under normal use, or around 13 hours with active noise cancellation enabled. Combined with the charging case, the total battery life reaches an impressive 80 hours. This makes them ideal for long trips, daily commutes, or extended use without constantly worrying about recharging. I found this great for just throwing the TOZO’s in my handbag knowing they were charging in their case and ready for whenever I needed them.

The charging case clearly shows you how much charge your buds have left

High-Res Audio and LDAC Support

Sound quality is another area where the NC20 really impressed me. The earbuds support LDAC, which basically means you can get higher quality audio if your device supports it. You might need to switch it on in your Bluetooth settings, and (according to my research online) it doesn’t work on iPhones, so it won’t be the default for everyone. When it is working, though, the sound is rich with solid bass and clear detail, helped by the larger speakers. Just keep in mind that using LDAC can drain the battery a bit faster and sometimes make the Bluetooth connection a little less stable.

As for call quality – it was solid overall. A call I made at home came through clearly, while a call taken on my walk from the ferry to work was a bit harder to hear due to surrounding traffic noise. Even so, the earbuds performed as expected and were perfectly fit for purpose.

52dB Active Noise Cancellation Performance

The active noise cancellation is strong for its price range, rated at up to 52dB of noise reduction. It performs especially well at blocking consistent low-frequency sounds such as airplane engines, traffic noise, or air conditioning hum. While it does not fully match some other ear buds I have tested with regard to noise cancellation, the TOZO NC20 comes close enough to be very effective in most everyday situations.

IPX8 Waterproof Rating and Build Quality

Durability is another highlight. With an IPX8 waterproof rating, the NC20 earbuds are well suited for workouts, outdoor use, and wet conditions. They can handle sweat, rain, and even brief submersion without issue, adding to their versatility.

Bluetooth 5.4 and Multipoint Pairing

Connectivity is smooth thanks to Bluetooth 5.4, which provides stable pairing and efficient power use. The inclusion of dual-device pairing is particularly useful, allowing you to switch easily between devices like a phone and a laptop without needing to reconnect each time. I really liked this feature when switching between listening to tutorials on my laptop then heading out for a walk and cranking the tunes via my phone.

Minor Drawbacks: Touch Controls and Fit

Getting the fit right took me a little bit of time, but it was well worth it. Getting a proper seal is important for both sound quality and noise cancellation performance. I found the touch controls a bit overly sensitive, which lead to accidentally hanging up on a call once, and skipping songs mid “solo cathartic-sing-my-heart-out-performance” – frustrating! And again, while the noise cancellation is very good for the price, it is not as effective at blocking higher-frequency sounds.

Verdict: Is the TOZO NC20 Best in Class?

Overall, the TOZO NC20 earbuds deliver excellent value by focusing on what matters most. You get outstanding battery life, strong sound quality, capable noise cancellation, and solid durability in a simple package. The few compromises are reasonable given the price, making these earbuds a smart choice for anyone looking for reliable performance without spending a premium.
