Do you drive your car with no insurance? No? Well you really shouldn’t skim on a dashcam either. There are plenty of options out there, and this time around Lee is road testing (see what I did there?) the Viofo A229 Pro.

The A229 Pro uses two flagship Sony STARVIS 2 image sensors, one each for the front and rear camera. If you have been out of the loop, STARVIS is the bee’s knees of image sensors for dashcams for quite a while now.

The front camera is 4K with the Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678, paired with a 1/1.8” 8MP image sensor.

The rear camera records in upgraded 2K resolution with the Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675, paired with 1/2.8” 5MP image sensor.

Without further ado, let’s see what Lee thinks of it.
