First Impressions
When the Elegear blanket first arrived, I was intrigued by the vacuum sealed packaging which gave the impression I was about to receive a small throw. Boy, was I wrong! Upon opening, what sprang forth was a majestic large blanket which easily enveloped me and the bed.
I live in a particularly chilly part of Australia, so the opportunity to try out a new blanket is always welcome. Extremely soft with a lovely textured effect, the blanket is finely made and provides good warmth for weight. Ideal for layering, or simply using on its own on milder days/nights, Elegear’s blanket provides warmth without the fear of overheating.
Composition
Crafted from 100% microfiber flannel, the Elegear blanket has a lovely silky texture that enhances its warmth and softness. It offers superior insulation, ensuring a cozy experience during these winter months. Not to heavy and not too light, it is just right for those nights when you want a blanket over you but don’t need the added weight. In saying that, the fabric’s density contributes to its durability and resistance to wear and no doubt will maintain its luxurious feel over time. The drawstring at one end enables you to drape it a little more if required.

No more to be said really, as I looked on our king sized bed. There were Willow the Russian Blue, and Klepto Millie the Jack Russell, both enjoying their own little corner of soft Elegear Velvet Blanket happiness.
Maintenance
Caring for the Elegear blanket is straightforward, thanks to its machine and hand washable composition. The proof is in the washing, whenever you buy any new blanket. Textiles can be tricky to launder, especially when you’re not sure if what you put in is what you’ll get out. Time to throw the Elegear blanket into the washing machine and dryer and see what tumbles out!
Well, bonus points for coming out the same size! The quick dry properties were evident as it took no time at all in the dryer. The same properties would make it a fast line dry on a hot Australian summer’s day too. I must say it was especially fluffy from the drier, and I couldn’t wait to put it back on the bed. I just love the Elegear blanket’s texture!
