At First Brush
The Oclean X Pro Digital has some impressive chops, boasting a modern, minimalist design available in silver, gold, blue, and purple. Its slim, lightweight handle (99g) is comfortable to hold and it looks very sleek. The device is IPX7-rated for water resistance, ensuring durability in wet environments.
A standout feature is the 0.96-inch colour touchscreen embedded in the handle. This display allows brushers to select brushing modes, view brushing scores, and receive feedback on missed areas.
Stuck on You
The Oclean X Pro Digital comes with a magnetic charging base, a USB-C cable, and two brush heads: Plaque Control and Delicate Care. The Plaque Control head features firmer bristles and a tongue scraper, while the Delicate Care head offers softer bristles for sensitive gums.
The magnetic charging base can be stuck to a wall or other upright surface, enabling the brusher to easily store their brush even in the shower. Great thinking, Oclean!
Smart Features & App Integration
Equipped with a six-axis gyroscope, the Oclean X Pro Digital tracks brushing coverage in real-time. Post-brushing, the touchscreen displays a score from 0 to 100 and highlights missed areas in red, prompting users to rebrush if necessary. This is extremely beneficial in improving your overall oral health.
The companion Oclean app, compatible with iOS and Android, offers detailed insights into brushing habits, from a 3D generic visualisation of the jaw to brushing frequency and duration. You can also receive personalised guidance through customisable programs including Teeth Whitening and supplementary brushing assistance to address those spots you’ve missed.
Brushing Performance
The Oclean X Pro Digital utilises a Maglev 2.0 motor capable of up to 84,000 movements per minute, delivering a powerful yet gentle clean. You have the choice from three brushing modes: Sunrise Soothing (gentle morning clean), Sunset Clearout (intense evening clean), and Exclusive (customisable settings).

Every time you brush, your efforts are rewarded with a score, seen below as Silver Lv 2. And the Oclean X Pro Digital will even wish you Happy Birthday!
Battery Life & Charging
One of Oclean X Pro Digital’s strengths is its impressive battery life. A full charge takes approximately two hours and can last up to 30 days, depending on usage and intensity settings. Charging is simple using the magnetic base and provided USB-C cable.
I can confirm the battery has lasted a very good four weeks, with twice daily brushing for three minutes each time. Plus the times I’ve turned it on and off for research purposes. So I think if using twice daily you could definitely charge every five weeks. That’s very impressive battery power.
Oclean X Pro Digital Likes
I have to admit, I like the Oclean X Pro Digital much more than my current other brand electric toothbrush. It looks nicer and is quieter, and the other one feels quite rough now in comparison.
- Added points for Oclean’s foresight to design the X Pro Digital magnetic stand with two options – stand in the cradle or slot in across the handle body.
- For those of you who brush in the shower, you have the option of sticking the magnetic holder to the wall or benchtop depending upon your needs. Very handy!
- Battery life is spot on. Brushing twice a day for 30 days and voila, recharge required. The Oclean X Pro Digital beeped three times over a couple of days to let me know it was time. And yes, it only took two hours to fully recharge.
- I have sensitive teeth and am very impressed with the ability of the Oclean X Pro Digital to effectively remove plaque without causing gum irritation.
- The Oclean X Pro Digital is super quiet, running at only 50 decibels (same as a running fridge). After my last electric toothbrush sounded like a train roaring down the tracks, the noise decrease is noticed and welcomed!
- ‘Excessive Lateral pull’. Yes, it’s a thing. Apparently the Oclean X Pro Digital has decided I have excessive lateral pull when brushing my teeth. I’ve apparently been brushing my teeth excessively one way for years and, without the Oclean X Pro Digital’s nuanced analysis of my brushing style, I’d have never known and caused additional harm to my poor teeth.
Oclean X Pro Digital Considerations
The Oclean X Pro Digital lacks a pressure sensor which alerts users when they’re brushing too hard. For those of your prone to overbrushing, this could be a potential drawback. But I would argue you know by now and should have adjusted your brushing style!
- The lack of a textured grip can make it slippery when wet— a consideration for those who brush in the shower.
- I did find the touch screen becomes obscured by toothpaste run off, but that’s only because it is so efficient at making you brush for the full three minutes.
- The display screen times out quickly and can be a bit difficult to see in direct sunlight.
- App is a little glitchy but nothing a few updates won’t fix.
- Unless you open the app while brushing, the Oclean x Pro Digital will not register you as having brushed your teeth, even if in the last two minutes. This is slightly frustrating but nothing which remembering to open the app won’t fix. Human error 100% !
Emotional Damage…
Look, I admit feeling a tad guilt tripped by the App for my ‘excessive lateral pull’… this is despite spending the last four weeks diligently trying to adjust my brushing style. The good news is I now have slightly less lateral pull, so the Oclean X Pro Digital has certainly helped me to adjust my oral care techniques. Well done me!

The Tooth Hurts
The Australian Dental Association has identified that only 38% of Australians use an electric toothbrush and 62% a manual one.
And of those 1 in 4 who do clean in between their teeth, 28% use either floss, an interdental brush or a water flosser; another 27% only brush “to make sure they reach the gums” while 10% see a dentist for a professional clean and 9% use mouthwash.
With stats like these, the Oclean X Pro Digital makes sense to ensure dental care for the whole family. And yes, you can also buy toothbrush heads suitable for children, so there’s every excuse to buy one for every family member.
Tooth Story
Growing up in Queensland in the 70’s, I developed an inordinate fear of the dentist due to the school Dental program. Every school had a dental van and we would be sent to have our teeth filled, cleaned and sometimes removed. All without painkillers. Whilst the trauma is still real, one thing drilled *cough* into me was the importance of caring for your teeth. I remember mum giving us fluoride tablets to help strengthen our teeth and I’m grateful for her foresightedness. We had toothbrushes with cartoon figures on them but electric toothbrushes were unheard of in our household. And yes, I still panic when in the dentist’s chair.
By the way, our dental van did NOT look like this! In my memory it is a fortress of torture…not this happy place of hope and pain killers. Kids have it so good these days. *dramatic sigh
Dental Plan!
Tooth decay remains an issue for Australian kids with 34% aged 5-6 years having experienced decay in primary or baby teeth and 27% aged 5-10 years having untreated tooth decay in primary teeth (Australian Dental Association, 2024)
Luckily, Australia has a wonderful backstop available for eligible families with young children.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is a means-tested government funded entitlement of $1,095 (per child) for dental work every two years. Children are considered eligible if:
- they are under 18 years of age,
- they are eligible for Medicare, and
- the parent or child receives a payment from the Government that makes them eligible. Payments include Family Tax Benefit Part A, Parenting payment or Double Orphan Pension payments.

Recommendation
The verdict is in and I highly recommend the Oclean X Pro Digital to anyone looking to optimise their oral hygiene routine. Slim and stylish with added app guidance, the OClean X Pro Digital is excellent value for money at $229.00. Available direct from Oclean and other reputable online retailers.
The Oclean X Pro Digital offers an excellent mix of features typically found in more expensive digital toothbrush models. The smart feedback system, customisable modes, and sleek design are on par with the rest of the current field, however, I believe the Oclean X Pro Digital provides the best value for money.
Is the absence of a pressure sensor a deal breaker? For many users, probably not, but should be strongly considered if you simply can’t live without that particular sensor. Likewise the app inconsistencies; remember, we’re only an update away from fixing glitches.
Your teeth are for life – here’s your opportunity to give them the best possible care.
It is available from the Shaver Shop with a RRP of $299.95, but is on half price at A$149.95 at time of publishing.
Thank you Oclean for the review opportunity.
