Being apart from your loved ones is never easy, but what if a simple touch could bridge the distance? This is what Totwoo has set out to do with their smart jewellery. DRN was sent some Totwoo Smart Bracelets to review.

Totwoo Smart Bracelets: Touch to Connect Anywhere

The blurb says, Totwoo’s bond bracelets for couples turn every touch, tap, flash, or buzz into a message from the heart. Crafted for emotional connection and long-distance love, they blend smart technology with elegant design – so you always feel close, even when you’re far apart.

My partner chose the Sun & Moon Touch Bracelets with Phantasmal Beads in Black+Rose Gold, but there are over 50 designs available on their website to choose from.

There are options to add a charm to each bracelet, either a letter or a birth stone in a heart shape.

First Impressions and Seamless Setup

The Totwoo smart bracelet looks a little like a jewellery watch. There is a “watch face” with a design on it – in my case, Moon and Star, and a Sun.

The bracelet design is as advertised. It appears to be of high quality and made from glass beads.

The black and white bracelet seems to be from natural stone.

Overall, Totwoo has created pieces that looks and feels like premium jewellery, with all the smarts and technology hidden out of sight.

The smart part of the bracelets depends on a connection to a device with Bluetooth and a cellular connection – you need a phone number in order to sign up for an account. It also asks for a gender and a date of birth.

The smart bracelet falls under the “Love” series. The instructions call for touch or tap the face of the bracelet and wait until the app recognises the device. This takes a few moments.

There are some backend permissions and settings that need to be set. I am testing on Android devices and it requires run in background permissions.

Once you are set here, the next step is to add a partner. Invitation is done by mobile number which is inline with the account creation requirements.

The partner just have to accept the invitation and go through the setup process to complete.

Long-Distance Connection: Totwoo’s Core Function in Use

Whether it is a romantic relationship, a parent-child relationship, or best friends, the tyranny of distance is real.

At least in this hyperconnected era keeping in touch, whether it is by a call, video, or a connection, can be at the touch of a finger. See what I did there?

The basic function of the Totwoo Smart Bracelet is to maintain a connection. You can send a “Thinking of you” and “Love you”, by just activating the smart bracelet.

You tap once to wake it up, and when it is blinking blue, you either tap to send a “Thinking of you”, or long press to send a “Love you”.

What it does is trigger the partner bracelet to vibrate and flash. The bracelet owner can open the app to see the message, or rather, Totwoo Signals as it’s called.

You can earn “Certificates of Love” when you reach milestones of Twoos. The first one is easy to get. requiring only one. But the progressive is steep as there are only eight certificates and you need 6000 to get to the top certificate – Diamond Love.

One thing to note is that full functionality requires active Bluetooth connection to your phone. The Bluetooth range is not significant, I lost connection after a few meters.

Value-Add Features: Calls, Love Letters, and Reminders

A value add is that the bracelet can notify you of incoming calls. You can have it as a free for all, known contacts or three most important contacts only.

Notification patterns – both light and vibration – can be customised in the app.

Within the app, you can create more involved messages.

  • Photo Love Letter
  • Audio Love Letter
  • Video Love Letter

After sending the love letter, their phone will receive a notification. Then a gentle touch on totwoo will open the love letter on their phone.

Reminders can be set for important dates, such as anniversaries.

There is also a Horoscope feature if you are into that. The Totwoo will light up or vibrate, depending on your settings, if the Fortune Index is over 4 stars.

This is also a kind of Magic 8 ball function, where it can “help” you make a decision. It’s a fun little side quest but in case it needs pointing out, the Totwoo is not a psychic.

Battery Life and Notable Design Gripes

The Smart Bracelets are rated for up to 7 days standby.

Actual usage time would vary depending on how often it is used, and if it is set to notify on incoming calls.

Charging is done via a provided puck – you don’t want to lose this.

As for gripes, this is all to do with some of the design choices Totwoo made with the bracelets.

The bracelets are designed in a way that is adjustable in size, with a sliding knot that can be pulled to make it smaller, or loosen to be larger. However the knot has a tendency to loosen across the day and you will need to retighten it – with one string between your teeth and pulling the other by hand.

As the bracelet loosens, the centerpiece can twist and end up facing inwards. This is due to the way the beads are attached to the main body that allows it to happen.

Final Verdict: Is Totwoo Smart Jewellery Worth the Price?

What price do you put on love and connection? The Totwoo Smart Bracelet is an innovative approach to maintaining a connection with loved ones.

As someone who spent three months being 7400 km from my then girlfriend, in the time long before smart phones and snail mail, I can understand the value of the Totwoo Smart Bracelet.

I can’t help but feel some of the value add is a bit gimmicky. At the same time, there is something to be said about having a private messaging system for that very special someone. You don’t even need to always type out a message, you could just send a Twoo without taking out your phone.

Human connections are all unique, and the Totwoo smart jewellery celebrates that. Prices do vary depending on the design, my review unit is listed for A$290.53 on Amazon. There are Black Friday deals on from their website.

DRN would like to thank Totwoo for providing the review unit.
