The foldable smartphone market is heating up, and Motorola has entered the book-style foldable category with its most ambitious device yet—the motorola razr fold. Best known for reinventing the iconic razr and helping bring foldables into the mainstream, Motorola is now taking on premium productivity-focused devices with a smartphone that’s designed to seamlessly bridge work, creativity and entertainment.

As Praveena Raman, Head of Motorola ANZ, explains, “The motorola razr fold is a landmark moment for Motorola in Australia… it’s a device that genuinely adapts to how people live, work and create, setting a new standard for what a foldable can do.”

On paper, the razr fold certainly looks impressive. It features a slim 6.6-inch external display that unfolds into a large 8.1-inch 2K LTPO internal display, claimed to be the brightest screen available on any foldable. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, paired with support for Google Gemini, moto ai and Perplexity AI, while compatibility with the moto pen ultra adds another layer of productivity for note-taking and sketching.

Photography is another major focus. Motorola says the razr fold is the #1 foldable camera system on DXOMARK, led by a 50MP Sony LYTIA 828 main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with up to 100x Super Zoom Pro, a 50MP ultrawide camera with Macro Vision, plus 32MP internal and 20MP external selfie cameras. Video recording supports up to 8K Dolby Vision, making this one of the most feature-packed camera systems on a foldable.

Powering everything is a substantial 6,000mAh battery with 80W TurboPower fast charging, while durability comes courtesy of a precision-engineered stainless steel hinge and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic protection. Motorola is also promising seven Android OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, giving the device strong long-term support.

The motorola razr fold is available in PANTONE Blackened Blue and PANTONE Lily White, with an Australian recommended retail price of A$2,799.
