Introducing TCL’s 30 5G mobile phone and bonus MOVEAUDIO S600 earphones. The TCL is sleek and light, with a clear and vibrant screen and enough power to get you through the day. It’s also highly affordable for those on a budget.
So let’s take a look under the hood…
Firstly, for those of you interested, I did an unboxing video on the TCL 30 5G earlier this week.
TCL 30 5G
On first impression, the TCL 30 5G is reasonably thin with a glossy front face and a white back. It also comes in Black and Dreamy Blue. I wasn’t sure if there was supposed to be a cover as the back looked incomplete to be honest. Further into the unboxing I discovered a clear silicon-style protector which clipped neatly over the back of the phone.
Once charged, the TCL 30 5G had all the usual Android set up. Nothing new there. All of the usual suspects were available: email, web browser, etc. I often find Android a bit fussy with all the Google apps but, once I’d removed those for which I had no use, I was much happier. Also was a little surprised to see a boot up screen at first use – this may be just a one off but not something I’d normally expect.
Storage is a modest 128GB with 4G RAM so it is good to know the inclusion of the MicroSD slot enables you to cater to 1TB expansion. This is a welcome addition and certainly provides greater memory capacity for your photos, videos and documentation.

MOVEAUDIO S600 EARPHONES
Presented in a sleek white oval box, I was initially a little confused when opening as the logo is at the back, not the front. Flipping the box around, it easily opened to reveal the wireless earphones.
Somewhat larger than expected with an elongated post, they come with a variety of smaller soft silicon covers to accommodate any and all inner ear shapes. Bonus points for comfort.
Sound was good and more than adequate for users with everyday use in mind. Noise cancelling is a bonus. Would I wear them at the gym or while running? Honestly, it depends on your ear shape but I had no issues going for a brisk walk. Great for listening to music or even watching a movie via your phone or laptop, they synced easily and I would use them with any hardware with Bluetooth connectivity.
50MP AI Triple Camera
There’s some great pictures to be taken with this camera. Point and shoot or fiddle around with the filters and frames; you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the quality and depth of field this great camera provides. Add a couple of different photography apps and you’re on your way to making fabulous memories. Camera specs are as follows: 50 MP (Primary), 2.0 MP Dual (Primary), 13 MP (Secondary).

I recommend the TCL 30 5G for anyone who wants a phone to stay connected but not necessarily spend hours scrolling through various websites or playing games in power hungry apps. Speed is a factor and the TCL 30 5G is more of a hybrid family car than a petrol consuming V8. The camera is quite good and the microSD slot gives your greater storage capacity. The TCL 30 5G has a definite market with consumers who need a reasonably priced mobile.
The TCL 30 5G will allow you to pay your bills, keep up with emails and access documentation through the Android Google universe. Oh, and keep in contact with family and friends. I would remove much of the Google bloatware too – it will free up some space for those apps you can’t live without.
The TCL 30 5G (with TCL MOVEAUDIO S600 True Wireless Headphones valued at RRP $249) is available now from JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, Target, Southern Phone, Amazon and Dick Smith Online at RRP $599.00. You might even find some last minute pre-Christmas discounts! Merry Christmas!
