Xiaomi is bringing the Leica co-engineered 5x optical telephoto imaging to the Xiaomi 17 Series for the first time. The series, including the Xiaomi 17T Pro and Xiaomi 17T, pairs the Leica 5x telephoto and Leica Live Moment with an advanced eye-care display and an ultra-large silicon-carbon battery.
Building on the imaging direction of the broader Xiaomi 17 flagship family, the 17T Series continues Xiaomi’s long-term collaboration with Leica. As part of Xiaomi’s Leica co-engineered imaging family, the new series brings Leica-tuned mobile photography experiences to more Australian users, extending Xiaomi’s flagship imaging DNA into a more accessible price segment.
The launch of the 17T Series comes stacked with launch offers just in time for the End of Financial Year (EOFY) season from 29 May to 30 June.

Xiaomi 17T Series Introduces Leica 5x Telephoto and Leica Live Moment
The 17T Series pairs Leica optics with Xiaomi’s imaging technology in a triple camera system led by a 50MP Leica main camera (1/1.31″ sensor on the Pro, 1/1.55″ on the 17T) with a 1G + 6P Leica Summilux lens and Leica UltraPure optical design. For the first time, the 50MP Leica 5x telephoto camera with OIS features on both models – delivering 10x optical-grade zoom, up to 120x AI Ultra Zoom, and 30cm macro – joined by a 12MP Leica ultra-wide and a 32MP front camera.
Beyond stills, Leica Live Moment captures the motion and emotion around the decisive instant across all rear focal lengths, with Leica Live Portrait, exclusive Leica watermarks and shareable collages. The 17T Pro adds Xiaomi’s first 4K 60fps cinematic recording, plus 8K 30fps and 4K 120fps video and Live cinematography – with a Stage mode for complex lighting at concerts and performances.
Xiaomi 17T Series Features 1.5K AMOLED Display with Xiaomi Vision Care
Both models feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with 3,500-nit peak brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, Dolby Vision and HDR10+. New Xiaomi Vision Care adapts to ambient light and manages blue light, flicker and motion blur for all-day comfort – making the 17T Series the first to receive the TÜV Rheinland quadruple eye-care certification, and earning Xiaomi’s first TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care certification. The 17T Pro runs at up to 144Hz with 1-nit minimum brightness and an innovative LIPO design giving equal 1.29mm bezels on all four sides; the 17T runs at 120Hz in a compact, lightweight form factor optimised for effortless one-handed use.
Xiaomi 17T Series Delivers Flagship Performance and Silicon-Carbon Battery
The 17T Pro pairs the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 (3nm) with a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery – the largest on a Xiaomi Series smartphone in the international markets (as of May 2026) – with 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge. The 17T runs the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra (4nm) with a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery and 67W HyperCharge. Both use the Xiaomi 3D IceLoop thermal system, run Xiaomi HyperOS with Xiaomi HyperAI, and carry IP68 water and dust resistance.
