We were sent the Roborock Qrevo Master, now named Rocky, for review! After some good solid weeks of use, I can say with no shadow of doubt that it’s the best Robot vac I’ve used to date, the automatic multi-map switching was what sealed the deal for me.

Here’s a bullet point list of the features of this robotic chap:

-Hot Water Mop Washing&Warm Air Drying
-Intelligent Dirt Detection
-Auto Dust Emptying
-Self-Refilling&Dock Self-Cleaning
-FlexiArm Design™ Side Brush
-FlexiArm Design™ Mop
-10000Pa HyperForce® Suction
-DuoRoller Riser™ Brush
-Dual Spinning Mops
-Liftable Mop
-Reactive AI Obstacle Recognition
-“Hello Rocky” Intelligent Voice Assistant
-Video Call & Cruise
-Pet Snaps & Search for the Pet
-PreciSense® LiDAR Navigation
-Roborock SmartPlan™ Technology
-Only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. 5GHz is not supported.

While I mention most things in the video review below, I don’t talk about the app functionality or ease of use, and I don’t comment on the “only 2.4ghz Wifi” – I’ll get that out of the way right now, the 2.4ghz while technically slower than 5ghz is fine for what the Roborock Qrevo Master requires to control and send video / audio, 2.4ghz also generally is a little more robust and can have slightly better range (house dependant, obvs) so for a robot that wanders off around your house, a strong wifi signal is a must.

Something else I omitted from the review was the ‘Reactive Ai Obstacle Recognition‘  “With structured light and an RGB camera, the robot identifies and avoids 62 object types across 20 categories. It swiftly navigates around obstacles, minimizing the need for manual intervention in both bright and dark environments. *Based on internal testing carried out by the manufacturer, the robot vacuum can see and bypass objects down to as small as 5cm wide, and 3cm tall. Recognition accuracy may vary depending on environmental factors” – In real-life, it accurately identified my teen’s shoes, and my wife’s uggs as shoes, and a hat… as shoes… But it certainly told me there were things in the way within the app, and that’s the main thing – I give this feature a pass.

Here’s my video, remember, I’m no Scorsese! (Like & Subscribe! 🤣)

But Simon, what about the APP?

I didn’t film the app because I was filming with my phone and I’m quite new to all this video tomfoolery! Below you can see the main interface of the app to the left, and the room interface on the right. The basics are all there, very easy to understand and use, they allow you to choose to clean the whole place, or choose a zone or a room, you also have the ability to select no-go zones, I noticed when I setup the upstairs map that it decided for me and marked the staircase as a no-go zone, smart. You can use the app to ask Rocky to patrol your house looking for your pet (Usually my pet, Coco, was patrolling the house looking for Rocky…c’est la vie!) and you can literally ‘drive’ rocky from the app if you want to drive to a specific spot to start a clean. I don’t know why you would, but you can.

The Qrevo Master Robot Vacuum with Multifunctional Dock 3.0 (mouthful!) has a 24 month warranty and is on special right now for $700 off in the Aus Roborock store (at time of writing, 29 Nov, 2024) If you didn’t have time to watch my video to the end, and I don’t blame you, it’s kinda long! I think this RoboRock is a winner. 5 stars (out of 5!)

DRN would like to thank Roborock for providing the review unit. This one gets a DRN Pulse Award, congratulations!
