Using the COVID-19 downtime wisely

/r/freecoronavirusoffers/The world is in uncharted waters right now, with the exponential spread of COVID-19 forcing more countries and states to decree more restrictive measures in an attempt to "flatten the curve". It is not up to me to judge the effectiveness of the measures in place, or indeed the attitude some people seem to have in regards to the containment process.

While some of us are lucky enough to still be able to keep gainful employment with the ability to work from home, others are not so lucky. What cannot be ignored is the mass layoffs in hospitality and retail sectors. It will be tough times ahead.

I came across this reddit community that is collating a live list of resources offered for free during this period. Full disclosure, I am on the moderation team. There are things to help kids entertained, education for all ages, learn a new skill if you are not able to work right now. There is a plethora of options and now is as good a time as any to try something new.

Everyone please heed the need for social distancing, the sooner we get onboard, the quicker we can start returning life to normal.
