Boost Mobile has announced its partnership with Green Friday, Australia’s first online sustainable shopping event which commences from today, World Environment Day.

Boost is the first technology company to partner with Green Friday off the back of its extensive efforts to promote refurbished technology and the launch of its own dedicated trade-in app, and joins a range of Australian brands across a breadth of categories that are encouraging consumers to shop mindfully this World Environment Day and beyond.

The digital event, first launched in 2021, aims to tackle Australia’s mass-consumption habits through peak shopping periods such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, where Australians can sometimes make hasty online purchases, many of which end in landfill. Green Friday is committed to flipping the narrative on mindless consumerism by providing sustainability-focused content and deals, to educate and help Australians shop with consideration and mindfulness.

Celebrating World Environment day, and with a sale that goes until June 9, Boost Mobile will offer up to 15% off its refurbished phone range including the iPhone 8, iPhone SE 2020, iPhone XS and iPhone 8 Plus, giving consumers the opportunity to ‘Buy Better’ while also receiving a $30 SIM and 12-month warranty.

Boost Mobile has been at the forefront of promoting recycled and refurbished technology, particularly smartphones, since July 2019. Its work via the dedicated Boost Mobile Refurb store and retail partners such as Coles has helped educate consumers and bring mainstream national awareness about the ability to purchase high quality refurbished smartphones that are good for both your wallet and the environment.

Boost furthered this commitment to the circular economy in late 2022 when it launched its very own Trade-In app, allowing Australians an easy, convenient and safe way of trading in their old smartphones and iPads for cash. By increasing the number of smartphones that are traded-in, Boost Mobile is looking to play its part in the circular economy, encouraging re-use of existing smartphones and easily delivering cash for unused technology, the ultimate win-win as budgets tighten and cost of living soars.

We are proud to be supporting Green Friday, Boost is all about offering simplicity, quality and value in our products, we also believe in doing what we can for the environment and sustainability. The circular economy and our refurbished program is a win for everyone. Our customers get great deals on highly sought after smartphones, and together we can support the circular economy,” said Boost Mobile General Manager Jason Haynes.

Having confidence in the refurbishing process and the company you buy from is a critical component to this, and customer awareness and education is really important. We hope many other brands who share our vision join us for Green Friday into the future.

Further, our Boost Mobile Trade-In App launched last year was an important part in offering the full circular economy option for all Australians. It provides the opportunity for all consumers to resell their current devices to put cash in their own pocket with confidence, knowing that 98 percent of all devices received are given new life via Boost’s Refurb Shop. We can all do our part and we welcome all Australian’s to download the Boost Trade In app to see if this is something they would like to try next time they are considering a new device.

The Boost Mobile Trade-In App is available to download now from the AppStore or Google Play.
