With almost two decades in the game, there are not too many products that instantly catches my attention. The Navman 2025 launch though was something that I got a bit excited about.

MiVue True 4K PRO Surround (include 128GB microSD) | RRP A$529

The 2025 range includes Navman’s first ever three channel dash cam, the MiVue True 4K PRO Surround that gives a complete picture including side impact and front and rear coverage. It is undoubtedly the most comprehensive dash camera in its class featuring a revolutionary three-camera surveillance system housed in two physical units. The front-facing camera precisely captures everything on the road ahead with industry-leading true 4K Ultra HD 2160P recording, with an all-important 8 Megapixel sensor to capture critical details. The second unit combines the other two cameras: a rear-facing camera, and an interior-facing camera that has an expansive 170-degree field of view that captures what is happening out of the side windows.

This design provides comprehensive coverage—forward, back, sideways, and interior – in one sleek high tech package. With a SmartBox (optional) the MiVue True 4K PRO Surround also offers monitoring while parked with smart and low power parking modes, front and rear event recording and for the first time side motion detection. There are real-time safety alerts including speed and school zones, as well as Advanced Driver Assistance System Warnings for enhanced vehicle safety such as Lane Departure Warnings and Front and Rear Collision Warnings.

MiVue True 4K (including 64GB microSD) | RRP A$279
MiVue True 4K DC (including 64GB microSD) | RRP A$349

Navman has also put true 4K technology into its mid-range products with the introduction of two new dash cams that offer the crisp, clear resolution 4K brings, at a price that is within reach of many. The MiVue True 4K and MiVue True 4K DC deliver true 4K 2160P Ultra HD footage at 30fps with cutting-edge STARVIS technology and an 8 Megapixel sensor.

The smallest details can be critical in proving fault, and these cameras capture them even in difficult low-light conditions. The MiVue True 4K delivers superb protection – a reliable witness that doesn’t miss a pixel of evidence – and the 3-Axis G-Sensor retains precise impact details, while the built-in GPS tags location and speed. This means insurance companies and authorities get a complete, undisputable picture of exactly what happened, where, and when. Both dash cams come with a 64GB microSD card making the value of these even harder to beat.

All the new devices include a supercapacitor for improved reliability in hot temperatures; the ability to share footage over WI-FI; firmware and safety camera updates can be done over the-air, and as always with MiVue devices, they include GPS and a 3-Axis G-sensor to provide a complete picture of location, speed and the direction of any impact.

This year Navman has also packed its new entry level model – the MiVue 270 Safety with an impressive array of technology features into a single, affordable unit that delivers high level protection without the premium price tag. Firstly, and importantly, this value-packed device features true 2.5K Quad HD recording at 30fps through its premium 4 Megapixel sensor and 140-degree wide-angle lens, ensuring every critical detail is captured with exceptional clarity during both day and night conditions.

MiVue 270 SAFETY | RRP A$179

In addition to these impressive recording capabilities, the MiVue 270 SAFETY incorporates ADAS safety features including forward collision warnings, lane departure alerts, and driver fatigue monitoring for trips over two hours. It also provides GPS-tagged footage with precise location data, safety camera alerts, school zone notifications, and optional parking protection by adding a SmartBox. With support for microSD cards up to 128GB, this affordable dash cam delivers unprecedented value while potentially saving drivers thousands in disputed insurance claims and increased premiums.

MiVue Rider DC Helmet Camera | RRP A$349

A new dash cam for the growing number of motorcyclists and scooter riders in Australia and NZ has also been included in the line-up of new products. After the successful launch of the MiVue M820D motorbike dash cam in late 2024, Navman has added to its range with the MiVue Rider DC Helmet Camera.

MiVue Rider DC

With a secure mount, this front and rear dash cam snaps into place and features built-in magnetic sensors. When attached to the helmet, the sensors will automatically turn on the device and start recording. The 4.5 hour 3200mAh battery also provides plenty of recording time for most everyday riders and can be recharged along the way. The dash cam is IP67 rated, meaning it is weatherproof front and rear. While the dash cam records in true 2.5K 1440P Quad HD at 30fps, this can be dropped down to 1080P Full HD when riding to record higher speeds at 60fps. Riders can download and share footage with friends using the MiVue Pro Companion app, and export rides as GPX files. Footage can also be easily condensed into time-lapse video and shared from on the app.

The fact is motorcyclists and scooter riders are more vulnerable, less visible, and often unfairly blamed in accidents compared to other road users, and the MiVue Rider DC Helmet Camera levels the playing field for them, capturing irrefutable evidence of what happened, enabling them to defend themselves against aggressive drivers and tell their side of the story to insurers.
