If you have ever used the zoom feature on your phone, you would understand just how difficult it is to keep it steady when maxing out the feature. In exciting news for bird watchers, photographers, and outdoor enthusiasts, Fujifilm has announced the global launch of two new Techno-Stabiscope binoculars.

The Fujinon Techno-Stabiscope TS-L 16×40 (TS-L 1640) and Fujinon Techno-Stabiscope TS-L 20×40 (TS-L 2040) have magnification ratios of 16x and 20x respectively, offering the highest magnification levels in the series.

These binoculars feature powerful image stabilisation and an advanced optical system with ED lenses, allowing for brighter and clearer observation for distant objects. Despite utilising large 40mm objective lenses, they are compact and lightweight. These features make them versatile binoculars suitable for a wide range of activities such as bird and wildlife watching, sports events, concerts, marine leisure, and outdoor adventures.

The TS-L 16×40 and the TS-L 20×40 feature a high quality and ergonomic design making them comfortable to handle for extended periods. Additionally, they have the IPX7 water resistance rating and can operate continuously for up to 30 hours while the image stabilisation is on, which supports usage in most tough environments.

FUJINON TECHNO-STABISCOPE TS-L 16×40 / 20×40 Product features

Combining a powerful image stabilisation system with a correction angle of ±3° and the highest magnification in the series with optical performance using ED lenses

Highest level of magnification in the “FUJINON TECHNO-STABISCOPE Series” with two models: 16x (TS-L 1640) and 20x (TS-L 2040). With these higher magnifications, these binoculars are suitable for bird watching on tidal flats and lakes from afar, or for the detailed observation and species identification.

The image stabilisation system with a correction angle of ±3° allows users to see details in athletes and performers’ faces clearly during sports events or music concerts in large venues.
These binoculars feature ED lenses (extra-low dispersion glass) to reduce axial chromatic aberration for long distance subject observation. Unlike standard optical lenses, ED lenses prevent fringing around subjects with its excellent performance even for distant observations.

Compact, lightweight, and high quality body design with excellent operability
Despite its large diameter body, with 40mm objective lenses, they achieve a lightweight, portable design at approximately 856g (TS-L 1640) and approximately 853g (TS-L 2040).

The design matches with the sophisticated and high quality “X Series” mirrorless digital cameras. These binoculars pair well with a Fujifilm X-Series camera. A finely textured arc-shaped pattern at the bottom surface enhances one-handed operability with its firm grip. The overall design is smooth with minimal protrusions, making it easy to put in cases or bags. Both a hand strap and a neck strap are included in the box. These accessories allow users to choose the best option for different situations. The hand strap can be attached to either the left or right side.

Continuous 30-hour operation and IPX7 waterproof performance

The image stabilisation can function continuously for 30 hours with two AAA batteries. Additionally, it features a 60-minute auto-off function for image stabilisation to prevent the battery from draining. The battery box is embedded on the right side, resulting in a smooth, protrusion-free design that does not interfere with handling.

IPX7 water resistance rating ensures the binoculars remain waterproof even when submerged up to 1 metre, for 30 minutes. This allows for confident use in a wide range of outdoor settings, such as at the sea, rivers, or under less than ideal weather conditions.
