Full disclosure: Fear of Flossing! When the boss asked me to test and review the Oclean AirPump A10 Water Flosser, I wondered if my dentist had contacted him to coerce me into flossing! I bravely said “Yes” to testing this unit. Here are my thoughts.
Its got “the look”
The first thing I noticed upon receiving the Oclean AirPump A10 Water Flosser was that it arrives in minimalist, lightweight packaging. It is made from sugarcane fibre and recycled paper, making it fully biodegradable. Inside, the items are neatly arranged, ensuring a clean and organised unboxing experience. The Water Flosser is available in two colours – green or grey, and has a really cool mid-century design look. Very aesthetic, very groovy, very appealing.
On the side of the unit is a clear panel that shows the water level, the top has a compartment for housing the nozzle when not in use, the base has a charging port for USB C cable, and on the front is a light indicator that changes colour depending on what setting you are using – orange (Standard), Blue (Soft) or Green (Massage).
To turn the unit on simply press the button on the side of the Water Flosser, then to switch between modes hold the on/off button for a bit longer and watch the colours change in the indicator circle on the front.
Distinctive Modes
Switching between modes is quick, with a clear light indicator showing the current mode in use. The A10 features three modes, catering to different oral hygiene needs:
- Standard Mode: Offers steady water pressure for routine cleaning.
- Soft Mode: Delivers gentle pulsations for users with sensitive gums or teeth.
- Massage Mode: Alternates pressure for a more thorough cleaning, ideal for dislodging stubborn debris.
Straight from the horse’s mouth (so to speak!)
Using the A10 Water Flosser is straightforward. I have to admit that I was hesitant to use the Water Flosser as I have always shied away from traditional flossing methods. I just don’t like the feel of something between my teeth. I hate it so much that I regularly ignore my dentist’s recommendation to floss! So, testing the oclean AirPump A10 Water Flosser really pushed my boundaries!
My thoughts, al dente!
To get started, simply fill the chamber with clean water (the unit is small enough to fit under the tap even in smaller sink setups), choose your nozzle and insert on the top of the unit, then press the button clearly marked with the universal ‘line & circle’ on/off symbol. The Water Flosser will start straight away delivering pulses of air and water to get rid of those pesky bits of dinner stuck between your teeth, that regular brushing just cannot remove.
I have a small mouth. Sigh. Every dentist tells me this like its a problem. And it probably is a problem when they need to get their hands in my mouth to do some important dental work that I keep putting off.

The tooth of the matter
The Oclean AirPump A10 Water Flosser is a nice looking unit. It comes in sustainable packaging which I really appreciate. It does the job its supposed to do, has a groovy mid-century design aesthetic, and is super easy to use. My teeth and gums felt beautifully clean after each use. I just didn’t like using it. There’s no problem with the unit. In the words of Taylor Swift, “I’m the problem, its me.”
I’m not a fan of flossing, traditionally or with this neat technology – it feels weird.
