Creality announces the Pika, a compact handheld 3D scanner designed to make high-quality 3D scanning more accessible for creators, designers and makers.

Built around the philosophy of “Scan Like You Shoot,” Pika aims to remove many of the traditional barriers associated with 3D scanning by eliminating complex setup procedures and allowing users to capture objects almost as naturally as taking a photograph.

Weighing just 260g, the new scanner combines professional-grade accuracy with AI-assisted workflows and wireless operation in a form factor small enough to fit in a pocket.

Rather than requiring laptops, cables and lengthy preparation, Pika features a built-in 3-inch HD touchscreen, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and dual removable batteries, allowing users to scan virtually anywhere—from workshops and classrooms to garages, museums and outdoor locations.

Designed for Everyday Creativity

While 3D scanning has traditionally been associated with industrial design and engineering, Creality sees growing demand from creators who simply want an easy way to digitise the physical world.

Whether scanning collectibles, handmade crafts, replacement parts, cosplay props or natural objects, Pika is designed to help users quickly convert real-world items into editable digital assets suitable for modelling, animation or 3D printing.

Its compact dimensions of 100 × 60 × 35mm (dimension updated 27/7) make it one of Creality’s most portable scanners to date.

Creality Pika - Two Methods of Capturing

AI Reduces the Learning Curve

One of Pika’s biggest innovations is its AI-assisted workflow, designed to minimise the amount of manual work traditionally required after scanning.

The scanner supports marker-free scanning, reducing setup time while avoiding the need to attach tracking markers to valuable or delicate objects.

AI-powered processing further simplifies the workflow through features including:

  • AI texture mapping
  • AI human scanning
  • AI hole filling

Together, these tools reduce the amount of model cleanup typically required before exporting or printing.

Capture stability is enhanced through intelligent anti-shake technology and single-frame infrared 3D imaging, while scan speeds of up to 110 frames per second help users complete scans more quickly.

Pika is also designed to work outdoors, with a built-in optical filter supporting scanning in lighting conditions of up to 111,000 lux (corrected value). In many scenarios, black and metallic objects can also be scanned without the need for scanning spray.

NIR structured light with optical filters supports stable capture under ambient lighting of up to 80,000 lux. [Added information]

Professional Accuracy in a Pocket-Sized Device

Despite its compact size, Pika delivers professional-level performance.

A dual-light scanning system combining seven blue parallel laser lines with near-infrared (NIR) technology balances fine detail capture with fast scanning performance.

The scanner offers:

  • Accuracy up to 0.03mm
  • Object scanning from 5mm to 2,000mm
  • Three dedicated scanning modes for different object types
  • One-click generation of printable 3D models
  • Export support for STL, OBJ, PLY and ASC file formats

Creality says the scanner is suitable for everything from miniature components and mechanical parts through to larger objects and human subjects.

Built for the Creality Ecosystem

Pika integrates directly with CrealityScan, which is available across Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, allowing users to capture, edit and export scans across multiple devices.

The software also receives regular over-the-air updates, adding new capabilities over time while improving existing AI processing tools.

For users already invested in Creality’s 3D printing ecosystem, Pika provides a straightforward workflow from real-world object capture to printable models, making it easier to repair, customise or recreate physical objects.
