Tineco has announced the Australian launch of the FLOOR ONE S9 Artist Steam Pro, an upgraded flagship wet and dry floor cleaner that combines super-heated steam cleaning with substantially longer battery life and a new targeted scrubbing mode for stubborn messes.
Priced at A$1,499 RRP, the S9 Artist Steam Pro will be available in Australia from 13 August through Tineco’s online store and major retailers including Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, Bing Lee and Retravision.
One of the headline upgrades is battery life. Tineco claims up to 110 minutes of runtime, giving the cordless cleaner enough endurance to tackle considerably larger areas without heading back to the charger midway through the job.
That’s joined by an upgraded 230°C HyperSteam system, designed to loosen sticky and dried-on messes using high-temperature steam rather than chemical cleaning products. Tineco combines this with electrolysed water, which the company says provides additional disinfection while maintaining the chemical-free approach.
Reverse Scrub targets the really stubborn stuff
Perhaps the more interesting addition for households with kids, pets – or simply an unfortunate relationship with tomato sauce – is the new Reverse Scrub Mode.
Rather than requiring repeated passes over a stubborn spot, activating the mode reverses the direction of the brush roller for 14 seconds. This increases friction between the roller and floor and concentrates the machine’s scrubbing action on the problem area.
Tineco pitches it at the sort of messes a conventional mop can struggle with, including dried sauces, muddy paw prints and kids’ craft glue.
It’s a relatively simple idea, but one that could prove more useful in day-to-day cleaning than another headline suction figure. Anyone who has found themselves repeatedly running a floor cleaner backwards and forwards over the same dried-on patch will understand the appeal.
Quieter cleaning
Noise has also received some attention.
A new Quiet Mode operates at a claimed 69dB, while the S9 Artist Steam Pro’s FlashDry self-cleaning system gains a Silent Mode rated at approximately 40dB.
The latter could be particularly useful because self-cleaning cycles don’t necessarily happen at convenient times. Being able to clean the roller after an evening floor clean without the dock making its presence known throughout the house is a welcome quality-of-life improvement.
Tineco says the changes are the result of feedback from Australian consumers, with runtime, noise and reliance on cleaning chemicals identified as recurring concerns.
“We’ve spoken to Australian consumers, and know that run time, noise and the reliance on harsh chemicals are frustrations and concerns holding households back from truly effortless, deep cleaning results,” said Jade Tang, Country Manager for Tineco ANZ.
“This new edition S9 Artist Steam Pro was engineered to solve all three at once, giving Australians more power, more flexibility and more peace of mind that the floors in their shared home living spaces are hygienically clean.”
Familiar Tineco tech remains
The S9 Artist Steam Pro isn’t a ground-up reinvention of Tineco’s premium floor cleaner. Several technologies from the company’s existing range carry across.
Its iLoop Smart Sensor monitors dirt levels and automatically adjusts suction and water flow, while Tineco’s MHCBS system continuously rinses the brush roller with clean water rather than repeatedly spreading collected dirty water across the floor.
There’s also HyperStretch, allowing the cleaner to lie flat at 180 degrees and reach beneath furniture. At its lowest point the machine has a claimed 12.85cm profile.
Tineco’s SmoothDrive powered wheels independently adjust their speed to make turning and manoeuvring the cleaner easier, while triple-sided edge cleaning is intended to get the roller closer to skirting boards and room edges.
A DualBlock anti-tangle system is designed to reduce hair and pet fur wrapping around the roller, and an LED headlight helps illuminate dirt when cleaning underneath furniture.

The Tineco FLOOR ONE S9 Artist Steam Pro carries an Australian RRP of $1,499 and includes a two-year warranty.
It will be sold through the Tineco Online Store, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, Bing Lee and Retravision.
Tineco is also running a launch promotion from 13 August to 13 September 2026. Customers who purchase an S9 Artist Steam Pro during the promotional period can redeem a complimentary accessory pack containing two replacement brush rollers and two filters, valued at $89.99.

At $1,499, this is firmly premium floor-cleaner territory. The big question is therefore not whether Tineco can fit more technology into a wet and dry cleaner, but whether features such as Reverse Scrub, the much longer claimed runtime and high-temperature steam make a meaningful difference when there’s a week’s worth of real household mess waiting on the floor.
