The Belkin BoostCharge Pro fast charger for Apple Watch + Power Bank 10K – try saying that ten times fast and not to be confused with the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 15W 3-in-1 wireless charger. Belkin could have come up with a different name, no?

Now that we’ve got that out of the way. The power bank is fairly standard, but does have a rather important part trick. I would imagine that just about all of us have at least one or perhaps many battery packs we may keep in a bag just incase when out and about to top up the charge on our phones or other devices.

From that perspective, this battery pack is pretty straight forward. Some basic features that I like:

  • It’s pretty light for what it is – I was pleasantly surprised by how light it was.
  • It’s covered in a kind of rubbery coatings which makes it easy to hold, and easy not to drop. Not that I found I was dropping other packs that much, but I like the feel of it nonetheless.
  • It’s also not that big, about the size of a Mars bar.
  • The pack has a group of 4 lights on it to show level of charge on it.
  • It has a single USB-C port for charging it up and plugging in your phone to then charge off the pack.

But then, on the one side, it has it’s stand-out feature and the main reason why I will probably have to get a second one of these as my wife has already ‘liberated’ my review unit from my desk…

The battery pack has a built-in Apple Watch charger.

Now, you may be thinking ‘what’s the big deal about that?’. You’re right, it’s not a big deal, but it is a rather nice convenience. At the moment, I need to carry about a battery pack and an Apple Watch charging cable or a little USB dongle kind of charger that my wife got me ages ago. With the Belkin BoostCharge Pro fast charger for Apple Watch + Power Bank 10K (thanks for helping me get my word count up Belkin), I can leave the cable and or dongle behind. One less thing to carry is always nice.

In regards to performance, Belkin claims that there is enough juice in the pack to charge an Apple Watch from 0-80% in 45 minutes and charge the watch 14 times over or an iPhone twice.

Whilst I didn’t test all those exact specs, I found the pack worked well. It took a bit longer to charge my watch, but I’ve got the rather large Ultra which takes longer to charge than the smaller Apple Watch. But it was pretty close to the stated time. And who lets their watch get down to 0% anyways? 😉 I’ll normally go a quick 20-30 minute charge once a day to top up the battery at some point and that works fine.

I’d like to share a bit of a story for my final thoughts on the Belkin BoostCharge Pro fast charger for Apple Watch + Power Bank 10K. My editor suggested that I review it as I do a fair bit of traveling so would have the most use for it. While this is true and I will find it very useful for travel, I think the fact that it has the Watch charger built in means that it would also be useful for just everyday use.

Most of our phones last a full or almost full day and we can find a place to charge it. But many of us forget to check the battery state of our watches and so always having a powerbank in your bag or car that can quickly top up your Apple Watch. I think that makes this pack’s party trick a reason to have it and keep it with you when out and about.
