Apex wireless verticalOur Viking warrior Ida has provided her thoughts on the GELID Solutions APEX Wireless Vertical Mouse. How well does it work for the average non-techy user?

For the last few weeks, I’ve traded my normal laptop touchpad for the GELID Solutions APEX Wireless Vertical Mouse. I’ll admit, my initial reaction way “ugh, carrying a mouse” but over the last few weeks, I’ve been somewhat converted. The feel is super smooth and feels good on your hand. I don’t know what the material it is, but I like it. Furthermore, I can use the mouse using only my fingers while resting my hand on the table if I wish, or I can comfortably fit my whole land on the mouse, keeping it off the table. The flexibility is an added bonus I wasn’t expecting and one I feel adds to my experience. However, while I can fit my hand comfortably, I doubt someone with bigger hands would be able to and I imagine the semi-pointy edge wouldn’t be too comfortable to have in your hand for extended periods of time. It’s also been equipped with some nifty next/back buttons which are conveniently placed and lets you engage your thumb as well, a feature I personally liked.

The only negative thing I can say about the APEX mouse is how sensitive it is. It takes some precision work to click the right thing but I’m fairly comfortable claiming it’s a matter of getting used to it. It is also a little bit too bulky to make me want to carry it around with me, bringing it to my university classes etc. but I’ll happily rely on it rather than the touchpad when I’m at home.

At the price point its advertised at, I’d definitely recommend this mouse. Its comfortable, easy to use and well worth the money – a 9/10 overall.

The GELID Solutions APEX wireless vertical is available in both right handed and left handed version for 14,99€ from Amazon. If you must, there is also a wired variant.

DRN would like to thank GELID Solutions for their on-going support.
